Born in The Square in Tralee town, Co Kerry, Pádraig Kennelly recalls for us many aspects of Tralee life from the early 1900s. These included the ‘Troubles’ in the 1920s, the Great Flood of 1970 in Tralee and the commercial life of the town. Founder of Kerry’s Eye provincial newspaper, Pádraig spoke to me about starting a business and the early work that was done on the newspaper. One article in particular about the search for oil off the coast of North Kerry in the 1970s is explored in detail.
