There was a tradition in Nora Comiskey’s family of providing domestic service for the large estates. She recalls many memories of her father, James White, who worked for the Plunkett family on their estate. Nora spoke about her own experiences while working at Rowntree’s sweet factory, commuting to work from the Strawberry Beds on a bicycle every day. She worked in the factory and also on the switchboard.
