Having been born in a net-fishing and shell-fishing South Kerry village, Sheila emigrated to Cambridge to work as a labouring girl for a North Kerry exiled landlord, Talbot-Crosby. She returned to her husband’s ancestral area in Cromane. She describes the old customs and traditions down through the years.
